Sofia, Bulgaria

Since 2011, LECIP ARCONTIA has supplied our Bulgarian partner, Antima, with ARC1301 RS232 OEM Readers and ARC2302 USB Desktop Readers for the Sofia Metro. Our ARC1301 RS232 Readers are embedded in turnstiles in metro stations, while the Desktop Readers are used by cashiers at metro stations for checking, charging and recharging smart cards for subway travel.

Some 1.5 million people live in, or around, Bulgaria's capital Sofia and it is becoming increasingly popular to travel by metro.

The city is undergoing an expansion of its metro system; construction began on a third line in 2016 which will be put into service by 2019.  The 12km long line will connect southwest Sofia with northeast Sofia, and 12 new stations are under construction – two of which connect to existing transfer stations in the city center.  We are glad to announce that, for this new line, Arcontia's ARC1301 RS232 OEM Readers and ARC2302 USB Desktop Readers have once again been selected.

LECIP ARCONTIA are pleased to be part of the expansion of the Sofia metro, improving mobility in the capital.
